Peony love.

Peonies deserve their own post.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve probably seen a swarm of peony photos on my feed. Can’t help it. Much like last year at this time, I’m all caught up in these gorgeous things. One slight difference: last year, I had a fraction of the number of blooms that I was graced with this year. Not to mention they smell like what I would imagine heaven smells like.
Two varieties bloomed, and another variety is in the ground for next spring. Pink ones!
They’ve finished their show, now, but here are some photos of the beauties.
Oh the lovelies.
Happy gardening!

I posted earlier this month about my peonies. They’ve been growing like crazy, and I was hoping for some gorgeous blooms. Well, I got just that!

- Peony Bloom
I was beyond thrilled with two of my plants along our front fence boasting ruffled, gorgeous, fragrant blooms. Made my week! And now I have another variety of peony about to bloom on our patio. Three buds about to unfold their gorgeousness!
In other news, I’m planting bush beans and cucumbers this evening, along with some zinnias.
Stay tuned…
Peony Update

Peonies are some of the most beautiful and fragrant flowers on the planet. Growing up, my mother’s peony plants would always bloom on the week of my birthday, in May. They lined our sidewalk and their fragrance hung in the air around our front porch. The lovely scent is nostalgic for me, and I’m so enamored with the flower that I chose peonies for my bridal bouquet on my wedding day.
With that said, I felt that the peonies I planted in the fall deserved their own mini-post. During the second week in March, I noticed shoots coming out of the ground for all of the plants. I documented with a photo, of course. Earlier this week, I walked outside and the peonies are at least a foot tall and counting. I again, documented with a photo. The change is amazing, and so neat to see!
Take a look.
I am crossing my fingers for gorgeous blooms this year. We shall see!
