Blooms

I’m reaping the rewards of my first real gardening efforts!

I got home from work yesterday and saw the first daylily bloom of the season beside my fence, blooming salvia that had been completely cut back, and my front porch planters exploding with flowers.  Just lovely.

And, like a good gardener, I starting cutting stuff back.  S difficult to do!  I wanted to leave everything all blooming and beautiful.  But, I took the high road and trimmed some dead leaves, cut off some flowers and brought them inside.

Despite the difficulty I had cutting off my beautiful flowers, my kitchen counter now looks oh-so-cheery.
